A delegation from the Syriac Union Party (SUP), participated in the Syrian National Dialogue Forum, which focused on discussions regarding the constitution and the system of governance in the country.
\nThe forum, organized by the “Rojava Center for Studies,” was held in the city of Raqqa and was attended by approximately 250 figures from the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Region of North and East Syria (DAARNES), the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), tribal elders, religious leaders, politicians, representatives of political parties, women’s and youth organizations, as well as individuals from various Syrian provinces.
\nDuring the forum, attendees exchanged views on the Syrian constitution and the form of governance that should be implemented in the country.
\nThe second session of the forum addressed the role of societal cohesion and the envisioned national conference aimed at resolving various Syrian issues.
\nAt the conclusion of the forum, a final statement was issued, outlining a series of recommendations and outcomes, the most notable of which were:<\/p>\n

\u2022\tA Syrian national dialogue process that does not adhere to democratic principles and national foundations will not achieve success.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tRejection of external dictates in the Syrian national dialogue process.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tSyria’s strength lies in the diversity of its components, and this diversity can only be acknowledged through the implementation of decentralization in the country’s administration.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tThe inclusive national identity should not conflict with local and subnational identities, as each component has played an influential role in modern political history.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tEmphasis on the application of transitional justice to address the injustices suffered by Syrians since the establishment of the Syrian state and to restore rights to their rightful owners.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tThe necessity of ensuring the voluntary and safe return of all displaced persons and refugees to their regions.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tRejection of any infringement upon women’s rights or their exclusion from sovereign or administrative positions within official and civil institutions.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tRejection of the exclusion of North and East Syria\u2019s institutions from the process of building the new Syrian political, administrative, economic, and cultural system.
