Statement to Public Opinion
On this historic day for Syria, marking the fall of tyranny and the dawn of a new era of freedom, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Syrian people.
Today, Syria is reclaimed by its children after long years of injustice and oppression. Together, we turn the page on a dark chapter to begin writing a future built on freedom, dignity, and democracy. All ethnic components of the great Syrian people must actively contribute to and engage in this nation-building journey.
This moment requires collective efforts to ensure a safe and normal life for all civilians, provide essential services, and establish security and stability throughout the country.
The Syriac Union Party (SUP), which has fought tirelessly since its founding to achieve national and patriotic goals, has stood resolutely with the Syrian revolution since its inception in 2011. Through years of unwavering struggle, we have made great sacrifices, including the loss of martyrs and the detention of many comrades. One of our founders, Comrade Saeed Malke, gave his life in the fight for the freedom of the Syriac–Assyrian people and all ethnic groups in Syria.
We have worked hand in hand with the Syrian people, promoting the values of coexistence and unity. We firmly believe in the necessity of collaboration among all ethnic components to achieve freedom and democracy while preserving Syria’s national and religious diversity.
On this day of victory and liberation, we congratulate the Syriac–Assyrian people and all Christians in Syria. We also recognize the critical importance of the coming phase, which requires intensified efforts and unity to organize and strengthen our ranks.
As an indigenous ethnic group with roots that extend thousands of years into Syria’s history, we commit to playing an active and constructive role in shaping the new Syria. Together, we will strive to secure and uphold our national and religious rights while ensuring justice and equality for all Syrians.
We pledge to continue our struggle and extend our hand to all those who work for freedom and democracy, rejecting extremism, chauvinism, and tyranny in all forms.
Once again, we congratulate the Syrian people on this historic and blessed day. The dawn of freedom has risen over Syria, made possible by the resilience and sacrifices of its extraordinary people.
