“With great sorrow, we offer condolences to our comrades and people, on passing of Comrade İzla (Nariman Özgün) who passed away on March 6 due to a terminal illness,” read the party telegram.
Martyr İzla was a member of the Presidential Committee of the Bethnahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB).
She had a long history of struggle. She dedicated her life to serving the causes of her Syriac-Assyrian people, including Syriac-Assyrian women, in the homeland and abroad.
She had a great impact on our work and organization in Syria. She possessed a strong will, deep thought and enthusiasm for work and struggle.
In the name of the Syriac Union Party, we offer sincere condolences to the MUB Presidency and Presidential Committee, as well as all her comrades and family.
