During the expanded meeting held by the Syrian Democratic Council in the city of Hasakah, the co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party in Syria, Mr. Sanharib Barsom, said in his intervention that dialogue has always been a fundamental principle for the Autonomous Administration, which has consistently sought dialogue with all Syrians.
He pointed out that international resolutions always state that the fate of Syrians can only be decided by Syrians themselves, but unfortunately, until today, there are still those who prevent Syrians from determining their own destiny.
Regarding the ongoing negotiations between the Autonomous Administration and Damascus, Barsom explained that the negotiation committee’s strategic choice has always been a peaceful solution and dialogue to reach agreements, whether with the current government or with all Syrians.
The co-Chair of the Party noted that some countries intervene positively and support dialogues, while others intervene negatively and work to undermine them.
As for the claims being promoted that the obstruction of negotiations comes from the Autonomous Administration, Barsom clarified that this is not true, stressing that the committees are always ready, but that it is Damascus which is stalling.
