A delegation from the Syriac Union Party took part in the memorial service for the former official of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, “Daoud Daoud,” held yesterday, Saturday, at the organization’s headquarters in Qamishli. The delegation was represented by Mr. Robel Bahho and Mr. Ephram Ishaq.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a hymn performed by Dr. Owis Assad as a tribute to the late Daoud.
Afterward, a speech was delivered on behalf of the organization by Mr. Gabriel Moshe, head of the Assyrian Democratic Organization, who highlighted the late leader’s role during the difficult circumstances the organization faced, noting the fruitful relations he built with all communities.
Mrs. Rima Murad, the wife of the deceased, then gave a speech in which she emphasized his deep faith in the cause of his people and the necessity of genuine national work to achieve the goals of that cause.
Following this, a video presentation documented the most important milestones of his struggle within the organization and his political role on both the national and community levels.
At the end, Mr. Bashir Saadi, deputy head of the organization, presented the organization’s shield to the family of the deceased in honor of his lifelong struggle.
