In honor of those who became beacons on the path of truth, whose blood was shed in defense of freedom and justice, and whose memory the earth continues to embrace year after year, the 26th anniversary of the martyrs of the Beth Nahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo D’Bethnahrin, MUB) was commemorated on Friday.
Marking the occasion, families of the Syriac Military Council’s martyrs and residents of Hasakah from various backgrounds, alongside members of the security and military forces, gathered at the Syriac-Assyrian Martyrs’ Shrine to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Council.
Representatives of civil and political institutions, as well as delegates from the MUB’s institutions, also took part in the ceremony.
It is noteworthy that the commemoration of the MUB martyrs will continue in Zalin (Qamishli) on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the hall of the Armenian Charity Association. The remembrance stands as a testament that the martyrs of the Council — and their legacy — remain alive in the hearts of the Syriac (Chaldean–Assyrian–Aramean) people, both within the homeland and in the hearts of all who belong to it.
In tribute to their memory, candles were lit and flowers were laid on the graves of the martyrs. The Syriac Security Forces (Sutoro) and the Women’s Sutoro Units provided protection to ensure that the commemoration proceeded in an atmosphere of peace and safety befitting this eternal occasion.
