Mr. Sennharib Barsom, a member of the Autonomous Administration’s delegation negotiating with Damascus, stated to “+963” that the U.S. role in Syria during the transitional phase is decisive and essential for achieving political transition and ensuring stability.
He noted that the United States has contributed to bringing closer the viewpoints of the Syrian government, the Autonomous Administration, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and is currently playing a positive role in activating the implementation of the March 10 Agreement.
Barsom pointed out that Syria’s accession to the Global Coalition against ISIS is a positive step that will create a solid partnership and future joint work across the entirety of Syrian territory.
He added that the integration and military cooperation between the government and the SDF will lead to fruitful joint efforts and significant positive outcomes in combating terrorism, which hampers political transformation and economic development.
Barsom further explained that recent U.S. efforts in the negotiations between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government aim to achieve integration within the structure of the Ministry of Defense.
