On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and at the invitation of the Women’s Council of Northeast Syria, in cooperation with the Syriac Union Party, a special lecture was held to mark this occasion in the hall of the church in the town of Qabre Hewore.
The event was attended by representatives from various institutions of the Bet Nahrain National Council, the Autonomous Administration of Northeast Syria, local political parties, and the Syriac Council and its committees.
The event included discussions and contributions from attendees, focusing on ways to raise community awareness, develop protection mechanisms, and the role of institutions in supporting women across different levels. Participants emphasized the importance of continuing such gatherings, which contribute to building a more just and equal society, highlighting the need to unite efforts to confront violence, protect women, and empower them within the community.
The panel included Ms. Amina Omar, a member of the Women’s Council of Northeast Syria, and Ms. Vaya Ardish, Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party, Qabre Hewore branch.
