A delegation from the Syriac Union Party paid a visit to Sheikh Manaa Hamidi al-Adham, the paramount sheikh of the Shammar tribe.
The delegation included Mr. Sanharib Barsom, the party’s co-Chair; Mr. Afram Ishaq, Head of Public Relations; and Mr. Habib Ardish, member of the Executive Committee.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest political developments on the Syrian scene, in addition to a general review of the political and social situation in the country.
They also touched on Sheikh Manaa’s recent visit to Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, examining the outcomes and implications of that visit for the national landscape.
Both parties emphasized the importance of national discourse and the need to strengthen civil peace among all components of the Syrian people. They stressed that the rapidly shifting regional dynamics directly affect the Syrian interior, which requires upholding a moderate, inclusive rhetoric and rejecting all forms of hate speech.
The delegation and Sheikh Manaa further underscored the necessity of activating the March 10 Agreement as a safeguard against any slide toward conflict in the region, as well as the importance of affirming the rights of all of Syria’s indigenous components within a democratic constitution that guarantees national, cultural, and linguistic rights for every group and serves as a unifying reference for all Syrians.
