Within the framework of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen relations, the Syriac Union Party paid a visit to the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria on Monday in the city of Qamishli.
The visiting delegation included Mr. Sanhareeb Barsoom, co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party in Syria; Mr. Afram Ishaq, Head of the Party’s Relations Office; and Mr. Gabriel Shamoun, a member of the Executive Committee of the Syriac Union Party.
The delegation was received by Dr. Salah Darwish, Secretary of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party, along with Abbas Mustafa, Saadoun Mustafa, Kilan Ouskan, Anas Abdi, and Media Akko, members of the Political Bureau.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current political situation and reaffirmed the strategic relationship between the Syriac Assyrian people and the Kurdish people. They emphasized that both parties share a common concern: securing the rights of all peoples of the region and enshrining those rights in the future Syrian constitution
