In light of the serious developments the region is going through, the Syriac Union Party and a group of political parties and forces issued a statement reading as follows:
The undersigned political parties and forces are following with deep concern suspicious attempts aimed at destabilizing Arab–Kurdish relations and pushing them toward confrontational paths that serve projects of fragmentation and chaos, and do not serve the interests of any of our peoples.
What is taking place is not the result of spontaneous disputes or individual mistakes, but rather comes within the framework of calculated policies that seek to inflame tensions, distort facts, and exploit any incident or disagreement with the aim of undermining mutual trust and striking at the foundations of partnership among the components.
The experience of North and East Syria has proven, despite all challenges, that coexistence and political and social partnership between Arabs, Kurds, and other components is not a temporary condition, but a historical necessity. This explains the scale of targeting this experience is facing by forces that see its success as a direct threat to their plans.
We clearly warn against being drawn into incitement and hate speech, and against attempts to drag the street into side conflicts that divert attention from the real dangers and lead to weakening the internal front at a moment that requires the highest levels of cohesion and unity.
We also affirm that provoking secondary disputes and exaggerating them at this sensitive time constitutes a direct service to the enemies of stability, and places political and moral responsibility on those behind them for any serious repercussions that may result.
The current stage requires responsible discourse, clear positions, and political awareness that prevents the passage of projects of fragmentation and internal fighting.
Protecting the social fabric, safeguarding Arab–Kurdish relations, and defending the existing experience of coexistence represent a national responsibility that tolerates no negligence. In this context, we call on states and international organizations to sustain the cessation of war.
Political awareness is the first line of defense against all attempts to tamper with the fate of our peoples.
