A delegation representing the Syriac Christian component in Syria met with the Syrian Minister of Interior, Mr. Anas Al-Khattab, in the capital, Damascus.
The delegation included Mr. Sanharib Barsom, President of the Syriac Union Party in Syria, Ms. Elizabeth Kourieh, Ms. Lana Kourieh, and Mr. Barsom Barsom.
During the meeting, discussions addressed the overall security situation in Syria, with particular focus on the condition of Christians and the challenges threatening stability.
The delegation emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Interior’s role in ensuring security and stability, as well as the need to strengthen inclusive participation of all components in building and governing Syria, alongside constitutional recognition of their rights.
For his part, the Minister affirmed the ongoing efforts to protect the Syrian people and maintain stability regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation. He stressed that the government works for all citizens and seeks to preserve the cohesion of the national fabric within a unified Syria.
