The Syriac Union Party issued a message of condolence following the passing of the veteran leader Saleh Muslim. The statement read:
“With profound sorrow and deep sadness, we received the news of the passing of the late political figure and prominent leader in the Democratic Union Party and the Kurdish movement, who devoted many years of his life to serving the causes of his people and defending their legitimate rights. He had a strong presence and left a clear mark on the path of political and national struggle.
The late leader represented a model of commitment, sincerity, and tireless work. Throughout his long career, he contributed to strengthening the values of peaceful struggle and responsible political action, leaving behind a legacy of activism that will remain present in the memory of his people and comrades, as well as in the memory of the peoples of the region.
As we mourn this painful loss, we extend our sincere condolences and sympathy to his esteemed family, to the leadership and members of the Democratic Union Party, and to the broader public, asking Almighty God to grant him His vast mercy and to grant everyone patience and solace.
May God have mercy on the deceased and grant him eternal rest.”
